If there's one reliable scale that helps Irish people understand an exchange rate or the cost of living, it's the 'how much is a pint' comparison.
Well, using some data crunching skills, Twitter user aderu has compiled that list for everywhere in Europe, so that there can be a definite chart to turn to when you're chatting about it with your friends down the pub.
The chart looks at how many beers the average monthly minimum wage would get you in each country, and there are some surprising results. Either beer is very expensive or the minimum wage is pretty terrible in both Georgia and Azerbaijan, who both sit at the bottom of the list with their monthly wage getting them 36 and 45 beers respectively. Things are't great for those in Montenegro, Armenia or Russia either, who are just above them with around 90 being their tally, while Belgium are by far and away the kings of beer, with their minimum wage buying over 1,000 scoops.
Ireland sit somewhere in the middle, with our minimum wage getting about 333 beers a month, and while we were beaten by our near neighbours the UK, at least we're having more craic then France.
