It's nearly the weekend, so why not consider how much less money we have than all of the people on this list...
As one wise philosopher once said, "mo' money, mo' problems", but that might not hold true for the richest of the rich in Europe, who have loads of money and probably a pretty decent standard of living. Y'know, infinity pools, bottles of champagne on ice, all that stuff.
Anyway, the map, which was put together using data from Forbes and made up by the folks at The Independent, shows the richest entrepreneurs in the continent, those people who have come up with some great idea or another, pulled themselves up by their boot straps and started a huge company that rakes them in plenty of dosh.
All the figures are expressed in dollars, but when there's this much cash involved we figure you can probably just guess for yourselves how much it would translate to. Here's a hint: loads. Always loads. Click on the picture for a bigger version if you want to have a closer look.
Ireland's entry in to the list is Indian-born construction tycoon Pallonji Mistry, who became a citizen after he married Patsy Perin Dubash, and with a whopping $15 billion he's earned his spot in the list.
A surprise entry for some is perhaps Michele Ferrero of Nutella fame (insert your own 'spreading' the wealth joke here) while the folks behind LEGO, Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, and Lidl, Dieter Schwarz, are ones that we might have expected. Other familiar brands are also making their founders plenty of cash, such as L'Oreal and Red Bull, but the richest guy in Europe is the Spaniard Amancio Ortega Gaona, who founded the Inditex fashion group, which includes Zara, Pull & Bear and Massimo Dutti, to name but a few.
So there you have it, a list of people who have way more money than us. Great. Reading this list makes us feel a bit like Homer that time he read through the credits on The Simpsons...
