The Weinstein saga has come to an end
Former Hollywood movie mogul Harvey Weinstein has been convicted to 23 years in prison.
Weinstein awaited the verdict of his trail at the New York City criminal courthouse, where he was expected to be put away for between five to 29 years in jail. He appeared in court in a wheelchair while in handcuffs.
Today, six actresses testified in court against the former movie mogul. Miriam Haley and Jessica Mann delivered "victim impact" statements before Justice James Burke issued his sentence. Actress Annabella Sciorra and three "prior bad acts" witnesses also appeared in court, and urged Justice Burke to give Weinstein the maximum sentence of 29 years.
Earlier today, Jessica Le Masurier, a France 24 and New York correspondent, reported that Weinstein wished to set up a hospital to help "the thousands of men who are losing to the process". She also broke the news on Twitter.

Weinstein was found guilty in court two weeks previously, being convicted for committing a criminal sex act in the first degree and rape in the third degree.
Earlier today it was reported that 1000 pages of court documents were reviewed, including emails Weinstein sent to colleagues and friends. In one, the once untouchable movie mogul allegedly said that "Jen Aniston should be killed" following an allegation asked by a reporter, that turned out to be untrue.
A number of Hollywood names were also on Weinstein's "red flag list", such as Ben Affleck, Rose McGowan, and Jason Blum.
