Ah, the meedja. It was first reported that Morgan Freeman was in a "critical condition" following his car crash on Sunday night. It's since transpired that the 71-year-old has "a broken arm, broken elbow and minor shoulder damage but he is in good spirits." He even managed to have a bit of an ole laugh with those present at the crash site in Tennessee. A source said: "They had to use the jaws of life (hydraulic cutters) to extract him from the vehicle. He was lucid, conscious. He was talking, joking with some of the rescue workers at one point." Seemingly "bystanders converged on the scene trying to get a glimpse of the actor", and even tried to catch a snap of him on their camera phones, with Freeman at the time quipping "No freebies, no freebies." What kind of a person does that? What were they going to do, send it in to Heat magazine's 'SNAPPED!' section?! Or maybe their mate's down the boozer - "here, d'you want to see a snap of a crash victim, complete with broken bones, being cut from their car - it's a blast!"
