There have been many imitations, but no one true Duff...until now.

There have already been several beers that have used the logo and the name of Duff, the beer made popular by Homer and the crew at Moe's Tavern in The Simpsons, but none of those have been officially licensed by the creators of the show.

21st Century Fox have decided that enough is enough and that they're bringing out their own Duff, and it may well be available in a bar near you soon within the next year. The first run of the new drink is set to be released in Chile later this year, where there seems to be a bit of a problem with people releasing unauthorised versions of the fictional beer, before being rolled out across the rest of South America and Mexico. Later next year, it will make its way to Europe, where we can only presume that there will be a long promotional tour featuring Duffman.

British brewmaster Paul Farnsworth has crafted the "premium lager", which has been described as having "a very good balance of flavour and refreshment to it. It’s fairly deep golden in color. It’s got a hint of fruit to it. It’s got a caramel aromatic to it."

However, there has been some resistance to the new venture, as The Simpsons is intended to be a show aimed primarily at a young audience, and creator Matt Groening has stated in the past that he would be completely against the sale of a real beer based on the fictional product as a result. Also, it's supposed to taste terrible in the show, which might cause problems for the marketing department...
