In a move similar to that of Zlatan Ibrahimovic a few weeks, back, it seems that former Liverpool player Daniel Agger has footed the bill for the Danish homeless football team to head to the World Cup.
The homeless World Cup kicks off in Santiago, Chile next month, but that's a long journey for a few sides from this part of the world. Not only that, but it's also an expensive one, and it can be difficult to get enough funds together to send the team over.
That was the case for the Danish national side who were a few thousand euro short of what they needed to get the team there, and were looking for somewhere they could raise the funds quickly. Thankfully, they didn't have to, as Daniel Agger, the former Liverpool defender who left Anfield last month during the transfer window was more than happy to foot the bill.
Charity worker, Frits Ahlstrøm, told Danish television channel TV2 that he spoke to Agger and mentioned that they were 20,000 Krone (€2,600) short, "and he replied without hesitation, 'I'll give it to you'. There is no substitute for class and Daniel has it on as well as off the field – as a player and a person".
