If you're not familiar with his exploits on the field (or diamond in this case), then you might be more familiar with him from his role in The Simpsons, but even the writers of that show couldn't come up with something this bizarre.
In that episode, back in Season 3, he was a pretty great guy who rescued a baby and pretty much everything else from a woman's burning house.
While that was a weird enough storyline, things got even weirder for him in real life when he shot his own finger off a while back. As if that wasn't bad enough, he had it unsuccessfully reattached, and it ended up falling off in the middle of a poker tournament last week. Talk about playing your hand...
Ok well I might as well tell you .I was playing in a poker tournament last night and my finger fell off .someone took a video of it.

He stated that he shouldn't have had it reattached in the first place, as it probably needed to be amputated instead, so now he's decided he wants rid of it for good and is selling it on eBay, along with the gun he used to shoot it off.
This is the 45 caliber Remington that shot my finger off. It is for sale if anyone wants to buy it pic.twitter.com/r4Q0X7MUHl
