The couple share a 21-year age gap
'Little Women' star Florence Pugh is finding "bizarre" the criticism she has been receiving for dating a man 21 years her senior.
Florence Pugh and Zach Braff have been dating since 2019, and the actress has had enough of random people attempting to belittle their relationship. Due to there being an age gap of two decades, Florence has been receiving abuse online from trolls and haters online which she is finding "bizarre".
In an interview with Elle Magazine, the 24-year-old Oscar nominee has said that it's none of anyone's business who she dates. She said: "I have the right to hang out and be with and go out with anyone I want to.
"'I’ve always found this part of what people do really bizarre. I’m an actor because I like acting and I don’t mind people watching my stuff, but people have no right to educate me on my private life.
"I know that part of being in the spotlight is that people might invade your privacy and have opinions on it, but it’s bizarre that normal folk are allowed to display such hate and opinions on a part of my life that I’m not putting out there.
"It’s a strange side of fame that you’re allowed to be torn apart by thousands of people even though you didn’t put that piece of you out there."
Florence has been a rising star on cinema screens over the past couple of years, starring as the main protagonist in some seriously impressive movies at such a young age. Just last year, she starred opposite Lena Heady and Dwayne Johnson in 'Fighting with my Family', got high with some Swedish fold in 'Midsommar', and was nominated for an Academy Award for her supporting actress role as Amy March in 'Little Women'.
Looking ahead, Florence was due to have made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut on our screens already in 'Black Widow', but we'll have to sit tight until later this year as the blockbuster was shifted from a May 1 release date to a November 6 date instead.
Speaking about how terrifying it was to be part of such a huge movie with Scarlett Johansson, Florence said that her co-star put her at ease. She remarked on her appearance at Comic-Con in front of Marvel fans: "[Scarlett and I] both stood there and I instantly had clammy, sweaty hands'
"Scarlett gave me her hand and we squeezed each other, and she also had clammy hands! And then I was like, 'Oh, this never gets old. This is just as powerful [for you] and you’re their legend!'"
