We caught up with the man himself to talk all things exercise, music and spandex.
1. Why wear a bumbag when exercising?
My mic is in the bumbag, so I need it so that I am able to move as freely as possible.
2. Why is Spandex so great?
Spandex is what I’m known for – I call it latex – No.1 It’s cool, 2 it’s comfortable – and colourful
3. How do you get crowds to exercise at a festival?
Naturally when I go on stage and the music is pumping, the crowds just want to dance along with me!
4. Do you ever just think 'stuff it' and start binge eating Doritos(or whatever your food of choice exactly is)?
I don’t binge on anything! Once a month I have some chocolate and crisps. There’s no need to give up on the things you love… everything in moderation.
5. How do you know when you've fit bod?
When you look in the mirror and the mirror looks back and goes wow!
6. What's your favourite music, and song in particular, to listen to
working out?
Funk, soul and of course some McFadden & Whitehead
7. Do Jamaicans exercise more than the Irish and British?
This is a tough one to answer, but no not necessarily. I think everyone needs to be conscience about fitness and exercise in what is a busy modern lifestyle for most people.
8. Do you always wear colourful outfits?
I’m known for wearing bright colours – it’s my trademark at this stage. It makes me stand out from the crowd. Dark colours bring me down, and since I live in Jamaica where the sun shines colourful clothing is a must.
9. What do you enjoy most about doing the festivals?
I love meeting people, interacting with a large energetic crowd! The feeling I get from meeting new people is amazing.
10. Who got you into exercise in the first place?
It was just me, I walked into a leisure centre one day and I said give me some of that!
