The upcoming weekend has been pushed back
The Coronavirus has caused an unprecedented amount of planning around the world to be cancelled, and now the Dublin Comic Con has become the virus' latest victim.
Due to take place this bank holiday weekend on March 14 and 15, Dublin Comic Con was set to host thousands of excited guests. Attendees who are big followers of all types of various fandoms were due to descend onto the Dublin Convention Centre.
In a press release published today however, the organisers have made the difficult decision on pulling the plug until a later date.
The statement reads: "After long discussions throughout the night and this morning, we are afraid we have to postpone DCC: Spring Edition until August. This has been a very hard decision for us to make. We are fans, first and foremost, and DCC is a big part of who we are."
Those who have tickets to the event will be able to use their tickets for when DCC returns to Dublin in August. The organisers have said: "As default, all tickets and stall holders will be transferred to our August show, but we ask everyone for patience as we set up alternatives for those of you who wish to have a refund instead of a transfer."
