"The movie will never be the same!"
US President Donald Trump, who is currently up to his eyeballs in impeachment, has blasted Canada for editing out his cameo appearance in one of Christmas' most iconic movies.
'Home Alone 2: Lost In New York', as well as its predecessor, are regarded by many as essential viewings at this time of year - if you haven't seen one or the other, did Christmas really happen?
However since he became US President in 2016, Donald Trump's brief appearance at New York's Plaza Hotel has remained a sore spot for his naysayers, purely because it's been deemed quite unnecessary.
And it seems that Canada, or more specifically Canadian broadcaster CBC, thinks the same. The channel has edited out his cameo as part of their yearly festive schedule.
According to Deadline, the broadcaster released a statement denying any political manoeuvring, saying that their decision to remove Trump was because he was not "integral to the plot".
They said: "As is often the case with feature films adapted for television, 'Home Alone 2' was edited for time. The scene with Donald Trump was one of several that were cut from the movie as none of them were integral to the plot. These edits were done in 2014 when we first acquired the film and before Mr. Trump was elected President."
Needless to say his omittance from the movie hasn't gone unnoticed by Trump. The President released a couple of tweets hitting back at the channel, as well as dragging Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau into the fray.

Trudeau hasn't yet responded to Trump's ruffling of feathers - and let's face it, he probably won't.
Here's the scene in question, just in case you need a fresh reminder.
