Looks like celebrity doesn't get you off everything for Dappy, as he's lost his appeal against the guilty charge handed down to him in January of assault and affray. Dappy, whose actual name is Contadinos Contostavlos, had been given a six month jail sentence which was suspended for 18 months, as well as ordered to pay £4,500 compensation and £2,000 for costs and slapped with 150 hours community service. But he's still getting away with a lot more than the average joe would.
The incident itself happened between Dappy and two 19 year old girls in a garage forecourt last year, and a fight kicked off leaving several of his friends and other men severely injured, including bystanders. Basically him and his mates were completely over the top and unnecessarily aggressive and he's walking away with community service. Dappy was cleared of counts of assaulting the two girls but it was reported in court that Dappy's saliva was found on the t-shirt of one of the bystanders who was severely injured. Apparently this man stepped in front of the two women he was shouting at and got spat on kicking it all off.
Dappy's mates however didn't benefit from his quasi-celebrity status, receiving jail sentences of 14 and 19 months. Unfortunately there's no punishment to stop Dappy making music for the foreseeable.
