Hey look, it's that thing nobody asked for
As if the last few years haven't been bad enough, the annoying blue amphibian is now awakening from its slumber.
Crazy Frog initially appeared in the mid-noughties when its version of 'Axel-F', the theme song to 'Beverly Hills Cop' reached number one in the charts. It famously beat Coldplay and their single 'Speed of Sound' to the top spot.
As if it hasn't done enough the first time round, it has since been announced the frog will be making a comeback on YouTube on December 10.
According to Wolfgang Boss, president of A&R for Sony Music, the decision to bring back Crazy Frog was due to an increased interest on YouTube. Boss owns all of Crazy Frog's music through his Mach 1 record label.
The track will be a mashup of classic hits inspired by TikTok trends.
"When we started Crazy Frog, there was no TikTok, it didn’t exist," Boss said. "But right now TikTok is super important. It’s basically the number one platform for people to share new music and funny things connected with music."
The video for 'Axel F' has 3.1 billion views and is the 19th most popular video in the site's history.
With roughly three weeks until its release, at least we have some time to prepare ourselves for it.
