The Rednex dance hit stopped play during a tie-break point

If you're a fan of tennis tournaments, you'll be aware that it's not that unusual for play to be stopped for various reasons - heavy rain, interruptions from the crowd, etc.

In fact, spectators had to be warned not to pop champagne corks during play at Wimbledon earlier this summer.

However, a slightly more unusual interruption brought play to a halt at the National Bank Open in Montreal, Canada over the weekend.

During a semi-final match between Poland's Iga Swiatek and USA's Jessica Pegula, the strains of the Rednex hit 'Cotton Eye Joe' suddenly started playing over the tannoy.

The match was paused and the point was replayed, but the players and the umpire did not appear to see the funny side.
