Unsurprisingly, given he's arguably the biggest star in the UFC right now, it's looking like Conor McGregor will be fighting in the main event at UFC 200.
What is surprising though, is his rumoured opponent. MMA Fighting.com are reporting that a Conor McGregor v Nate Diaz rematch is being slated as the main event for what's being billed as the biggest ever pay per view in the promotion's history.
The website are reporting that multiple sources have informed them that the UFC is trying to put the fight together despite comments from Nate Diaz during the past week that he didn't expect McGregor to get a rematch with him any time soon.
Diaz shocked the world two weeks ago when he made McGregor tap out in what was expected to be a routine win for the UFC Featherweight Champion despite the step up in weight classes. Diaz only had eleven days of prep going into the fight after he replaced McGregor's original opponent Rafael Dos Anjos.
Many expected that McGregor's next fight would be a defense of his Featherweight Championship with both Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar waiting for their chance to get a crack at the Crumlin native. However considering the insane numbers the UFC got for UFC 196, Dana White and his partners are probably thinking that it's best to cash in on a McGregor/Diaz rematch while the iron is still hot.
