In an interview this morning on Newstalk Breakfast, coach John Kavanagh stated that McGregor's title bout may not be in May after all.
After defeating Dennis Siver in Boston earlier this month, Conor McGregor is in line for a title shot against Jose Aldo this year, and in the post-fight press conference, Dana White confirmed that Las Vegas would be the venue for the fight.
However, the date also seemed to be more or less set, and May was touted as the most likely time for it, but speaking to Ivan Yates on Newstalk Breakfast this morning, he was quick to state that the fight now looks as though it will take place later in the year.
"It's not 100% yet", Kavanagh said. "There was talk of a May date, it may now actually be later in the year. I get a lot of tweets and messages with people wanting to book their flights but I would just say hold on until the UFC officially announce".
In terms of giving a more concrete date, Kavanagh stayed quiet, simply saying that it looks as though it will now be later in the summer, so if you're planning on heading over to see McGregor hopefully take the belt, then you'll have to wait a little bit longer to sort out your plans.
