Teigen and her husband, musician John Legend, were expecting their third child

Chrissy Teigen has shared a heartbreaking post this morning revealing that she has suffered a miscarriage.

Teigen, whose husband is musician John Legend, had only confirmed the news of her pregnancy last month, which was revealed in the video for Legend's video 'Wild'.

This morning, she broke the sad news that due to complications with the pregnancy, sadly their third baby passed away.

Teigen - who conceived naturally after undergoing IVF procedures for her children Luna and Miles - had posted a picture of herself to Instagram two days ago revealing that she was in hospital for a blood transfusion. Her post today saw her explain what happened, along with photos of herself and Legend in hospital. "We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before," she said. "We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.

"We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital.  But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack.  So he will always be Jack to us.  Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever."
