Cheryl Cole is a GirlĀ Alone this morning as she has split from her boyfriend Tre Holloway.

The former Girls Aloud singer allegedly called time on her 14-month romance with the US dancer this summer because their hectic work schedules and the distance between them proved too difficult, with a source telling the Daily Mirror: 'Cheryl and Tre had a brilliant year together but the pressures of long-distance dating eventually became too much. Although Cheryl does a lot of work in America, often it is in New York, which is still a good six-hour flight away. The time difference, plus the hectic nature of Cheryl's working schedule, eventually took their toll. Cheryl realised that if they weren't going to live together, realistically, the relationship, just wasn't going to go anywhere.'

Los Angeles-based Tre apparently refused to move to England while Cheryl was adamant about staying in the UK so she could look after her pet pooches Buster and Coco. Also because maybe that's the only place where she has a career.

Holloway was Cheryl's first serious boyfriend since her marriage to soccer star Ashley Cole ended in 2010. However, Tre and Cheryl - who has just returned from a boozy trip to Amsterdam with her former bandmates Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh - have remained in close contact.

The insider added: 'Despite splitting up in the summer, they met up for dinner last week just as mates and they had a great time. They remain incredibly fond of one another and their families are also still very close and in regular contact.'

The couple were last seen together in September at NFL American Football game at Wembley Stadium in London, but are thought to have attended the event as friends.
