I'm not exactly sure what's going on here, 'cause it hasn't been reported on at length, or anything. Do bear with me. She's after getting some job in America with Simon Cowell? Apparently there's been some speculation regarding the post in just the last few days or so, but I've not heard anything about it at all, at all. Anyway, she's happy about the new job, whatever it is:

"I'm so excited. I absolutely love finding new talent and helping them grow, so this is very exciting for me to take part in. It's going be very different for me from our British version just because America is so huge and the age range on X Factor is going to open it up to age 12 to age 80. But talent is talent no matter where in the world you're from. That's one of the special things about it. Talent doesn't have a class or an accent or a country, it's a gift - and I love finding that in people."

I, for one, cannae weet to heyor hor neyew axcint, leek.

By the by, the Tweet posted by @TheXFactorUSA, read: "BRITISH POP SUPERSTAR CHERYL COLE JOINS ANTONIO L.A. REID AND SIMON COWELL ON THE X FACTOR JUDGES PANEL."

Ahhhh, so she's doing the X Factor, but in America. Who knew.

For those of you wishing to quibble with Cheryl's purported POP SUPERSTAR status, she's only going to appear in The Sunday Times' Rich List... cause she earned over £12million last year. Twice the amount Adele earned. Yep, £12million for miming, pushing the odd tear out on live TV, and standing oop to Simon. This, she believes, is her golden ticket stateside:

"I just can't decide whether I am more excited to find and nurture the talent or for the unbelievable amount of amusement and entertainment I will have watching Simon doing everything and anything he can to beat me. He's tried to beat me for three years in the UK, and hasn't even come close. His ego must be so bruised. America is gonna love this."

In unrelated news, Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution has been canned after two episodes stateside. They just didn't like him.
