It should all be about the heroic work, but with this guest list, it's clearly all about the dresses. And the overuse of concealer (Childs wasn't the only one...) Sorry to cheapen the sentiment, but that's my job.

It's also The Sun's job, 'cause they've opened their news piece with the line "YOU'VE got to feel sorry for anybody sharing the same red carpet as Cheryl Cole." Yet they don't got to the trouble of mentioning anyone else's efforts. OK if you're Nicola Roberts (bangs of toilet roll holder, but she's carrying off the colour surprisingly well) or Kimberly Walsh (who looks nice, but perhaps a bra wouldn't have gone amiss), you might feel a bit crap, but they're used to it at this point. Same goes for Tulisa Cantspellhersurnamevlos. The last time she was spotted looking comfortable in her attire, it involved a velour trackie and a side pony. Until she's that comfortable in her skin again, the clothes will continue to wear her.

Those who obviously heard Cheryl was coming, and therefore opted for overcompensation seemingly included the likes of Myleene Klass, the rather unsettling Yvie Burnett, the aforementioned Amy Childs, Holly Valance, and Michelle (you might need sunglasses for this photo) Mone. And maybe Coleen Rooney. It's not bad, she just always looks like she'd trying too hard.

Those who really couldn't give a sh*t, and would welcome the oppertunity to rub themselves up against Cole given the photo include Elle MacPherson, Emma Bunton, Holly Willoughby, Louise Redknapp, the entire cast of Loose Women, Christine Bleakley and Abbey Clancy.

In short, perhaps it's the tacky exposed zip lark that's tainting my view somewhat, but is Cole ruling the carpet in this instance? For example, I emitted audible exclamations when greeted with the sight of Caroline Flack and Melanie Chisholm. The latter because - apart from the dress - this is the best I've ever seen her look; the former because she's finally wearing shoes. Not booties, SHOES! All we need to do now is wrestle her into something low cut or halterneck and she might actually introduce some styles into her wardrobe, apart fom babydoll. Well done, Caroline. It's a small step, but I'm so proud *dabs eyes*.
