The 'Buffy' star calls Whedon a "tyrannical narcissistic boss"

Star of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Angel' Charisma Carpenter has responded to Joss Whedon's comments in a recent New York magazine interview.

Charisma Carpenter was among the 'Buffy' actors who came forward with allegations against Whedon last year.

She said Joss Whedon "abused his power on numerous occasions" both on the set of 'Buffy' and 'Angel'.

She wrote that "he found his misconduct amusing" and said she witnessed "disturbing incidents" working with him.

The actress said he called her "fat" to colleagues when she was 4 months pregnant.

She wrote: "He was mean and biting, disparaging about others openly, and often played favourites, pitting people against one another to compete and vie for his attention and approval."

Charisma Carpenter also noted that his behaviour "only served to intensify my performance anxiety, disempower me, and alienate me from my peers."

When asked about his working relationship with Carpenter in the New York magazine interview, Whedon commented "I was not mannerly."

He also said: "Most of my experiences with Charisma were delightful and charming. She struggled sometimes with her lines, but nobody could hit a punch line harder than her.

"I did not call her fat."

Charisma Carpenter responded to the interview on social media.

Her post reads: "#IStandWithRayFisher The "malevolent force" and "bad actor in both senses" who poisoned my feeble mind with trendy buzzwords and corrupt ideas about my experiences with a former tyrannical narcissistic boss who is unable to be accountable and just apologise."

Charisma's comments were in relation to what Whedon said about 'Justice League' star Ray Fisher, who also came forward with misconduct allegations against Whedon, in the New York interview.

Fisher responded by tweeting: "#IStandWithCharismaCarpenter who (like this 'bad actor in both senses') has no agency in determining matters of abuse or race, but for the influence of a White male shadow puppeteer."
