"Sounds very, very exciting, but isn't." Her words, not ours.
When you reach a certain level of acting ability, there must come with it some kind of imperviousness to common gardening tools like a hoe, shovel, or chainsaw.
How else would you describe Cate Blanchett surviving a self-inflicted wound from a chainsaw, for example? The Australian actor made the reveal ever so casually, because of course she did, in a recent podcast episode of 'A Podcast of One's Own' with Australia's former PM, Julia Gillard.
"I’m fine," the star of 'Carol' and chainsaw-repelling actor insisted, "I had a bit of a chainsaw accident yesterday, which sounds very, very exciting, but it wasn’t. Apart from the little nick to the head, I’m fine."
The incident seemingly occurred when the actor was doing some light - well, can't have been that light if there's a chainsaw involved - gardening her mansion home in England when the chainsaw got away from her and nicked her on the head.
Blanchett also revealed that she had taken the year off from work in order to help her 18-year old son get through his A-levels, however, the whole global pandemic thing's effectively put the kybosh on that. "And then all of this exam stuff evaporated and I'm left with an 18-year-old who doesn't really want to have anything to do with me."
How weird it must be that A) your mother is Cate Blanchett, and B) you don't really want to hang out with her? Almost as weird as getting a minor injury from a chainsaw, clearly.
