Well, she was bound to after being unceremoniously dumped from Countdown, by way of a pay cut, for a 22-year-old blonde Oxford University graduate (her name's Rachel Riley and, for one so attractive, she has no idea how to dress herself):

"I've never considered writing my autobiography before, probably because, by the yardstick of today, I am a very private person. But from the moment the publishers came to meet me to discuss the possibility of a book, I realised that there is so much to say that people don't know about and certainly won't be expecting, and with the Countdown debacle marking the end of one chapter in my life, I've decided to bite the bullet, big time. They are stories which have not been heard before, as I am, by nature, a secret keeper." Whereas now she's made the timeless switch to sell-out/published author.
