The world has gone pretty loco for the Apple watch, but with all the reviews saying it's the best thing since sliced bread and the price tag, you might not be able to get your hands on one, so here's a helpful guide to (sort of) make your own.
Full disclosure, this isn't exactly the Apple watch you were hoping for, but it does have some of the same functions that the fancy doohickey that everyone will soon be wearing on their wrists does.
The folks over at Instructables figured that they wouldn't be the only ones left without a watch in their hands come launch day, so they came up with this version that does keep and display the real time and date, but the rest of the functions are merely a parody of the fancy Apple Watch.
The device itself is pretty darn impressive, and is built to be a pretty faithful replica of the old Apple II computer from 1984. It's got a tiny speaker for all your alerts, a 1.8 inch LCD screen and it even has a drive for the smallest floppy disks you can get, which look as though they need to be inserted with a tweezers. Some of you out there might not remember exactly what a floppy disk is, and the realisation of that fact makes us feel terrible about ourselves. We hope you're happy.
You can follow the step by step instructions on how to make the device over on the Instructables site, or you can start saving up now for the real deal now, which comes in a couple of fancy editions. Here's a handy infographic on how they stack up against one another.
