Yesterday afternoon, Jodie Foster did all the PR for her latest directorial/acting offering, The Beaver, alone. Why? Because her co-star, Mel Gibson, won't talk to the press after all that business with the ex.... and after the film got slated Stateside.
During yesterday's press conference, Jodie acted as Mel's "mouthpiece", informing the assembled that he "won't be talking." She did take the opportunity to defend his character, saying: "Only he can explain that and we are all responsible for our own behaviour, but I do know the man that I know and he's been a friend for many, many years and somebody who is probably the most loved actor in Hollywood that I can think of... As a friend he is kind and loyal, thoughtful." Perhaps if she'd sat on top of his hand, like her titular Beaver, he might've come across with a few words himself.
He did, however, put in an appearance at the premiere last night - his first public appearance since that aforementioned Oksana business. Despite going ahead with the informed decision to keep himself muzzled, Mel still managed to remind everyone why, in light of recent events, it's best for him to keep shtum.
Also at last night's premiere were Naomi Campbell and Bar Rafaeli - who looked stunning as always. She no doubt pulled out all the stops once informed that her ex was on a yacht across town proclaiming that he's still "King of the wooooorld" to Stephen Spielberg, while copping off with his new (rumoured) piece of skirt, Blake Lively...
Tomorrow, there will no doubt be another gallery. I'm still gunning for those twins to turn up... in the interim, you'll have to make do with this lady taking the "split" trend to a whole new level...
