It was all go yesterday for Louis Walsh. He won the guts of €498 in an out-of-court settlement over The Sun's Louis Probed Over 'Sex Attack' on Man in Loo article published in June 2011. Said article was found to be based on a false claim made by unemployed dance teacher Leonard Watters.
Sky News reports: "The Sun published an article in its editions on June 23, 2011, with the headline "Louis Probed Over 'Sex Attack' on Man in Loo" in which it was wrongly claimed Walsh has groped Watters at the celebrity nightclub Krystle following a Westlife concert in April 2011. When the official complaint was made, The Sun and the Irish Sun printed the story before Walsh was questioned under caution. He denied the accusations against him. Watters was subsequently jailed for six months for making the false allegations."
Speaking of the win, Walsh said: "I'm very relieved. This has had a terrible effect on me guys. It was all lies. And I'm very satisfied with this total vindication for me, but I remain very angry at the treatment I received at the hands of The Sun." For more, scroll yerself down to the video below.
Now that that mucky business has been put to bed, Walsh can focus on what he does best, managing pop superstars. And he's got some choice words for mum of one month, Adele.
In an interview with the new issue of Q magazine, he said: "If I had someone like Adele, no way would she not be working now. Fine, have a baby, but then get back out there before they forget who you are! She'd be on every other TV show and there'd be another album ready. Work the room! That's my philosophy."
Thankfully Adele has more talent than the average boy band, so she can actually submit to motherhood. In fact, she's after setting a new record for US album sales. Sky reports: "21 was the third album to hit the 10 million mark in 2012, along with Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory and Usher's Confessions. But it is the only album to reach the milestone in less than two years in the last decade, according to chart firm Nielsen SoundScan.
