Saturday night saw the annual neon taffeta fest that is the British Soap Awards. Here's an extensive breakdown of who won what, and thanks to who, courtesy of Digital Spy.
This here is our gallery, depicting a load of soap characters with people they're not supposed to be with. For example, are Emmerdale's David and Debbie going to embark on an affair, is that why they're pictured together? Are Pollard and and Gennie's mum going to get it on? Why are Mia and Jackson's dad swinging out of each other?! Who's this blonde bird with the new farmhand and - CHRIST - it's Zak without his hat!!! And so on.
Of course, it wasn't just the folk of Emmerdale getting tongues wagging - the good people of Coronation Street also raised a few eyebrows: Molly returned from the dead; young Katy whipped herself out of the pregnancy hoodies and into some make up; Brooke Vincent and Shobna Gulati managed to look more garish than normal; and (SPOILER ALERT) Leanne's birth mother turned up; and why didn't Marc come as Marcy?
As for the rest of them, there's too many to mention, suffices to say anyone you can think of from the world of soap turned up - apart from the Square's redsident oracle - Dot Cotton... and Roxy Mitchell (and all the other Mitchells). And Steve McDonald. OK, and Tracy Barlow... And Deirdre Barlow... annndd...
