If ever there was an opportunity to use the 'smartphone, dumb people' joke this would be it.
Apparently some people are now so enamoured by their iPhones they somehow believe that an expensive and fragile electronic device can survive being dunked into a basin of water.
A fake Apple advert claiming that the new iOS software makes iPhones and iPads waterproof began circulating online in the last few days. The advert stated that updating to iOS7 would make your phone 'waterproof' through a 'smart switch that cut's off the phone's power supply'.
You know what's coming next. Some users were so astonished by Apple's latest 'revelation' they simply had to try it for themselves. Needless to say, their iPhone's didn’t survive the ordeal and they took to twitter to express their 'frustration' with whoever started the rumour.
Whoever said iOS 7 is Waterproof your phone.... F*ck You !

The new iOS software was released last week as an upgrade option for newer iPhones and iPads. There was no mention of it making iPhones waterproof and as far as we know, there still hasn't been any sightings of pigs flying.
