Still a long way to go
In a wide ranging interview this week, Brad Pitt has claimed he's in the "last leg" of his career.
Speaking to GQ, Pitt spoke about a wide range of existential topics, from his career and artistry to interpreting his recurring dreams.
Talking about his career to date, the 58-year-old said "I consider myself on my last leg. This last semester or trimester. What is this section gonna be? And how do I wanna design that?"
Much is written about Pitt being one of Hollywood's last true leading men. Throughout the interview, snippets of insights from close friends or colleagues appear attesting to the view.
"It's just a different breed of man. And frankly, I don’t think you can describe exactly what that is because it's like describing starshine," said Quentin Tarantino.
"I noticed it when we were doing 'Inglourious Basterds'. When Brad was in the shot, I didn't feel like I was looking through the viewfinder of the camera. I felt like I was watching a movie. Just his presence in the four walls of the frame created that impression."
Pitt also delves into his creativity on and off the screen. He is heavily involved in his production company Plan B Entertainment. The company is producing the Marilyn Monroe biopic 'Blonde' starring Ana De Armas. Pitt will also produce the upcoming 'Beetlejuice' sequel.
"I'm one of those creatures that speaks through art," Pitt explained. "I just want to always make. If I'm not making, I’m dying in some way."
Despite Pitt saying he's coming to the last part of his acting career, he is still involved in some big upcoming projects. He'll star as Ladybug, an enigmatic assassin, in the upcoming 'Bullet Train'. He will also star alongside Margot Robbie in 'Babylon', a film about the transition from silent films to talkies.
