Inch Strand
Considered by many the best beach along the Kerry coast, Inch Strand is famous for being the film location for 1970s film Ryan's Daughter. Surfers, swimmers and (depending on the time) nudists hail the beach as a top destination.
Ventry
Located on the Dingle Peninsula, Ventry beach is out-shined in tourist popularity by Inch Strand, but for no good reason. Ventry is usually more spacious and definitely more scenic, it just wasn't the film location for any Hollywood productions.
Tramore
The Waterford beach is as pretty a spot as any and also has its own surf school so wannabe Cali-heads should forget the American West Coast and even west of Ireland and head straight for here.
Portmarnock
If your looking for a spot not too far from Dublin's city centre for a day-at-the-beach then this is your best bet. With Malahide just down the road, there's many a choice when it comes to food and old-man pubs as well as a park walk too.
Brittas Bay
This Co. Wicklow beach is handy for day-tripping Dubliners as well as locals and far-off travellers. Safe and clean for swimming, it's a handy-pandy option.
