Huh
This wild story about the disgraced Hollywood star keeps getting wilder.
Last week there was an odd story splashed across the internet that Armie Hammer was laying low in the Cayman Islands working at a hotel resort. It gathered traction after a flyer with his face on it began circulating online. However, it was all claimed to be a prank.
Now reports suggest that the 35-year-old, who has been ousted from Hollywood following a string of sexual assault allegations and some rather bizarre and worrying cannibalism claims, is actually there selling timeshares.
There are two new nuggets of information surrounding the matter - one which indicated that he's out there doing his best to stay afloat, and another that suggests this news piece could all be hearsay.
A source close to Variety claims that Armie Hammer is indeed in the Cayman Islands: "He is working at the resort and selling timeshares. He is working at a cubicle. The reality is he’s totally broke, and is trying to fill the days and earn money to support his family."
The anonymous individual, who called the publication, said that prior to working as a timeshare salesman, Hammer was managing an apartment complex there. Living at the beach resort allows him to be near his two young children who have been residing in the Caymans with his ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers.
However, Entertainment Weekly has published a story after speaking with the actor's attorney, Andrew Brettler, which doesn't give a clear indication of the actor's whereabouts. The email states: "I can't confirm or deny it because Armie hasn't addressed it.
"I just think it's sh*tty that, if he is selling timeshares, the media is shaming him for having a 'normal job'. What's the story here?"
The publication contacted the hotel on Wednesday evening, with an employee saying all senior staff had left for the day.
The 'Call Me By Your Name' and 'Death On The Nile' star has not been seen or heard from since those aforementioned allegations came out about him last year. In the wake of the news, he was dropped by his agency and his publicist. He also exited a number of movie roles including 'Billion Dollar Spy' starring Mads Mikkelsen and 'Shotgun Wedding' alongside Jennifer Lopez.
At the time the allegations began making headlines, Hammer claimed they were "bullsh*t". Paige Lorenze, an ex-girlfriend of the actor, once described him as "kind of a scary person".
So, is Armie Hammer really working in the Cayman Islands as a timeshare salesman? All signs seem to point to a hesitant yes.
