Aside from the obvious choices of the Zoo and that farm you went to every year as a kid, there's piles of fun stuff to do in Ireland if you're an animal lover. You don't have to be Ace Ventura to become one with nature and it's little furry creatures, as this list of other alternative options proves.

Walk the animal shelter dogs-

It's also worthwhile keeping an eye out for charity dog walks in parks such as St Anne's which happen annually.

See the deer in Phoenix Park-

Strolling through the rambling hills and fields of Phoenix Park is as close to either Bambi or The Sound As Music as you're likely to get. The deer in the park are a wild herd but can be found wandering close to park visitors without any bother once uninterrupted. Hear the call of nature and see the majestic beasts in all their antler glory.

Go to Causey Farm-

The Meath farm offers far more than the average farm experience, with hen nights, mural painting, sheepdog demonstrations, bog trips, giant bubble-blowing, bodhran-playing and more on offer. It's one of the most interactive and friendly farms around no matter what form of group you go with.

Horse riding around the West-

With our country's horse riding traditions you would think everyone would be lepping around the place on mares non-stop but a ridiculous amount of people have never even
tried it. Most equine centres have treks for inexperienced riders (keep in mind this all refers to horse riding please). Beach treks, field treks and forest runs aplenty people.

Go Scuba Diving to Spot the sealife-

It's surprisingly difficult not to make a Nemo or Little Mermaid reference here, so let's get to the point. There are many schools and places to qualify for scuba diving across the country, and around the coastline there are loads of cool, safe spots for divers to watch sea life firsthand, such as the Aran Islands, Youghal, Ballycastle, Malinbag and plenty more.
