Having watched intently the coverage from Frankenstorm Sandy - especially the scenes of Jersey Shore (the actual shore, not the reality show) being wiped away - we may never complain about the weather in Ireland ever again. We'll just moan now very briefly about the cold and the fact that it's snowing in Limerick and Cork, and then we'll thank our lucky stars we're not paddling our way to work in a canoe. Snow use complaining, some might say. But sure lookit, we're Irish, we love a good whinge.

With temperatures falling all over the country and scarves flying out of Penneys like we're preparing for The Day After Tomorrow, it seems Munster has experienced its first bout of snow. Remember the days when you'd pray with every fibre of your being for a snow day so you could get off school and piss about? Nowadays snow is more of a permanent fixture of our winter. Now if only the government could put in place a system so the whole country doesn't fall to a standstill within the falling of the first few flakes.
