Two counts of it, no less.

Director Reg Traviss, who reportedly proposed to Amy Winehouse a few weeks before her she died, has been formally charged, and will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court this July.

Rebecca Mundy, a lawyer for the Crown Prosecution Service, said: "I have authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge Reginald Traviss with two counts of rape. The alleged offences took place between 29 December 2011 and 1 January 2012. The decision was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

The sexual assault was first reported on January 18th and the 35-year-old filmmaker was ar-rested on April 5 by the Metropolitan Police.

After his April arrest, friends said Reg was shocked and had vowed to fight the allegations. A random mate said: "He does know the woman who made the report to police and he completely denies the allegation. He wants to do everything in his power to fight this."

Traviss has been ordered to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London on July 17th - one week before the first anniversary of Winehouse's death.
