I bet he is. Many folk, myself included, expected a nursing home's shopping list, or at least the contents of Pete Doherty's pockets to be included in Amy's recently released toxicology report. As it turns out, she didn't have any "illegal drugs" in her blood stream. Just a bit of booze - which "may or may not have contributed towards her death". That's a bit frightening. Or rather a case of 'damage already done' at that point.

Rumours had circulated that Amy went on a drug bender the night before her death last month. But after the official report revealed that that couldn't have been the case, Mitch said he feels pleased that people will now know the truth. He told The Sun, "This doesn't make me feel the loss of my daughter any less, but we are pleased to be able to set the record straight to a certain extent. "[Boyfriend] Reg [Traviss] has said that the person that she has been painted as in some quarters was just so far away from the Amy he knew. Some of the stories of her last few days were just not how they led their life together."

Last night a Winehouse family spokesman said, "Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy's system at the time of her death. Results indicate that alcohol was present, but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death. The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations, and for keeping them informed throughout the process. They await the outcome of the inquest."

Meanwhile a source said that waiting for the results was (obviously) a painful time for the family. "The report is the hardest thing Mitch has ever had to read. The family had been upset at some of the speculation about the circumstances surrounding her death and at people coming forward claiming to know what happened who clearly did not. They wanted to end rumours about drugs. Mitch made it clear at the funeral how he thought it happened and these results begin to back that up."

At the funeral, Mitch had said she'd "completed three weeks of abstinence" and had informed him: "Dad I've had enough of drinking, I can't stand the look on your and the family's faces any more." He added: "She was the happiest she has been for years. We all remember that great night at the 100 Club on Oxford Street, her voice was good, her wit and timing were perfect. She told me that she had 'thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed herself'. But knowing she wasn't depressed, knowing she passed away, knowing she passed away happy, it makes us all feel better."

For those of you who missed the summer, 'cause the sun failed to inform you that hibernation was over; Amy was found dead by her bodyguard at 4pm on July 23rd.
