OK, Universe, the woman doesn't need any stress this time around. Give it a rest.

Amanda Holden was left fearing for her unborn baby (again) after she was involved in a car crash yesterday. The Britain's Got Talent judge was on her way to pick up daughter Lexi, five, from school in West London when her car collided with a lorry. A passer-by of the male persuasion rescued the star, who is three months pregnant, before rushing her to hospital where she and her little one were given the all clear.

Amanda, 40, told The Sun, "I am hugely relieved that both myself and my baby are fine." A source added that the actress pulled out of the evening's Shrek The Musical in London's West End so that she could rest. "She was terrified the impact and the shock could have harmed her unborn child and left her facing her third miscarriage in 18 months. She knew she had to get to hospital as soon as possible. She feels she's had an incredibly lucky escape and is full of thanks to the passer-by who helped her."

That's good news. The really nosey side of me wants more details about how exactly a lorry collided with her car. Not that it matters, mother and child are safe - that's all that matters. Holden's spokesperson has recently confirmed, however, that her car was a write off, saying: "The lorry’s fine, Amanda’s car isn’t."

To say that a lucky escape was had all round is something of a gross understatement.
