After 4000 entries, months of campaigning by four finalists, and thousands of votes from the public, a winner has been selected.
Eugene Horan came out on top in Budweiser's Dream Big competition, beating drummer Stuart Hennessy from Dublin, swing dancer Laura from Cork and festival enthusiast Ciara Gilsenan from Meath.
Eugene will now get to pursue his dream of becoming a Hollywood actor.
Rosario Dawson, best-known for her roles in Sin City and Death Proof, announced the news saying: ‘The winner of the Budweiser Dream Big competition is Eugene Horan. Congratulations! Your determination and hard work has paid off. We can’t wait to see you living your dream over here in the States.'
She also thanked Ireland for the 'warm welcome'.
Originally from Galway, Eugene and his ‘bud’ Basia now get to go to the US for once-in-a-lifetime experiences to the value of €50,000. There Horan will get mentoring and coaching to pursue his dreams, after chasing his break on the big screen for the past 14 years.
Speaking about Budweiser Dream Big and the winner, marketing lead Muna Nageh said, ‘Eugene captured the essence of this competition, showcasing his passion and putting 110% into making his dream come true. We’ll be following Eugene and Basia’s dream in the States, while hopefully inspiring others to continue chasing theirs.
‘The response to this year’s Dream Big campaign has been phenomenal. We more than doubled the number of entries versus last year and quadrupled the number of votes. We’d like to thank everyone who got involved, from the initial entrants, to our four finalists and the public who really got behind them and voted.’
