If you were at this year's Dublin Comic Con, or indeed any Comic Con, you'll know that cosplay is a pretty in-depth hobby.

It requires a huge amount of time, effort, skill and money to do it right and, more often than not, some of the best in the game are actually professionals in costume design. So it goes with Galway's Julian Checkley, who nows hold the Guinness World Record for most functional gadgets in a cosplay suit.

Julian, who worked as a professional sculptor and designer for films, managed to come up with TWENTY-THREE functional uses for his custom-built Batman suit. These includes

  • Fireball shooter
  • Gauntlet video screens
  • Bat tracking beacon
  • Batsignal projector
  • Folding batarang
  • Grapnel gun
  • Cowl respirator
  • Pneumatic tranquilizer gun
  • Ultrasonic anti-dog device.
  • Bat shurikens
  • UV lamp

..and, y'know, the suit itself is obviously a gadget too. It's pretty damn impressive to say the least. Here's a little video from the Guinness World Records that explains how he did it.
