To mark the actor's birthday
Between his acclaimed roles, TV appearances and interviews, and headline-making moves, he genuinely seems like a great guy. The actor turns 23 today and has already accomplished much. Thus, here are our favourite things about Timothee Chalamet. Of course, feel free to comment with some of your own.
His acting career is sky high
Obviously we have to start with what a talented actor the guy is. He followed his breakthrough role as Elio in 'Call Me By Your Name' with notable supporting roles in 'Lady Bird', opposite Saoirse Ronan, and 'Hostiles', opposite Christian Bale. While it doesn't hit Irish cinemas until January 18th, Timothee Chalamet has also been earning big acclaim Stateside and a bunch of award nominations for his latest role opposite Steve Carell in 'Beautiful Boy.'
His integrity is impressive
Chalamet has demonstrated integrity in other ways we're sure but we were particularly impressed with this move at the start of the year. The actor was due to lead Allen's film 'A Rainy Day in New York'. However, following allegations that Allen sexual assaulted his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow in the early '90s, Chalamet decided to donate his entire salary for the film. TIME’S UP, The LGBT Center in New York and RAINN were the charities he chose.
He danced in the streets with fans
Another one of our favourite stories from the last year about Timothee Chalamet was when he danced in the streets with Armie Hammer and 'Call Me By Your Name' fans. After the pair hosted a screening in Crema, Italy, the city where the movie was filmed, Hammer invited locals via Twitter to join them for a post-show gathering in the town square at midnight. What a night that must have been.

He looks damn good photoshopped into old paintings
We don't know how someone came up with photoshopping Timothee Chalamet into old paintings, but we're so glad they did. Instagram account @chalametinart sees Chalamet blend into works by the likes of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio and John Singer Sargent. Below are some of our favourites.
He loves Emma Stone as much - and possibly more - than we do
Variety's Actors on Actors interviews series always impresses. This year, they had Emma Stone and Timothee Chalamet interview each other. Chalamet made it clear from the start that he's been a big fan of the Oscar-winning actress ever since her start off in 'Superbad.' He knew all her films and had a question for pretty much everything she's done. He was so full of awe and enthusiasm throughout the interview that you can't help but adore him for it!
He's insecure and vulnerable, and not afraid to show it
One of the highlights of the aforementioned interview is when Chalamet talks about his part in 'Interstellar'. The actor admitted that he cried after seeing the movie for the first time because he thought his part was bigger. He also opened up about missing out on the role of Spider-Man and on 'Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.' It's nice to see that kind of display of insecurity and vulnerability. Then again, wasn't he better off in the end sure?
He has some amazing work coming up
Timothee Chalamet also has a whole heap of stuff on the way which we can't wait for. He'll reunite with Greta Gerwig and Saoirse Ronan for 'Little Women', which is filming now. He'll also play the lead role of 'Henry V' in an upcoming Netflix series called 'The King'. He has additionally been cast in Denis Villeneuve's remake of 'Dune' and will star in Wes Anderson's next movie. Exciting stuff!
