Donald Trump's Twitter habits have been the subject of endless analyses, thinkpieces from high-brow journalists and everything else in-between.

However, in the past few days, the US President has gone on a Twitter blocking spree and blocked a wide variety of people. So far, Trump has blocked progressive group VoteVets, seminal horror author Stephen King, Star Trek: The Next Generation actress Marina Sirtis, and most recently, Chris Greene, of the nightly show Chris & Ciara on RTE 2FM.

Yes, really. We spoke to Chris about this to find out exactly what happened. For starters, here's the offending tweet.

As Chris tells it, he wasn't even insulting Trump. "If anything," says Chris, "I was lampooning the idiots who think tweeting to Donald Trump is going to make the slightest bit of difference. Basically, verified accounts on Twitter go to the top of reply threads, so all these z-listers like me tweet him the most trite, obvious, regurgitated rubbish to try get some followers."

As far as most political insiders can make out, Trump still has direct control over his personal Twitter account - but has only begun to block people with more frequency in the past few weeks. As for Chris' reason for writing such a tweet, it's pretty simple. "I tweeted it because this form of slactivism is exhausting. I hope the people who send Trump big long threads of "Politics 101" observations realize how little it helps."

Although he's not politically active, Chris claims he's voted in every election and referendum since he turned 18, but "keeps the hell quiet about it."

"I am so sick of nobodies like me with a bit of a Twitter following thinking people want to hear their hot takes on politics. I'm all for people trying to change the world through activism, but sending a tweet to Trump is just naked retweet getting. NOTE: YES I KNOW I ALSO SENT HIM ONE I GET IT THANK YOU."

But has Chris Greene been blocked by anyone before? "No, just the 45th President of the United States of America."
