He'll be back (to save you from eviction)

If you were ever in need of some help from a Hollywood actor, who would be at the top of your list? Arnold Schwarzenegger might be a possible frontrunner.

According to a news story from the LA Times, a 102-year-old woman, Thelma Smith, has been handed an eviction notice by her landlord. Smith, who has lived at the residence for 30 years, has been given three months to move out of her residence, as the landlord's daughter will move in.

And it is all very legal. According to LA rental law, a landlord has the right to evict a tenant "to accommodate a relative’s housing needs." It is believed that the area has seen many such occurrences happen of late, with landlords wanting to get low-paying renters out of their properties.

Smith, who spoke to a TV News Channel earlier this week, said "The only thing I can say is that I’ve tried to live a good life. I never wanted to harm anybody." She is now relying on friends and family to help her out of her current situation.

However, we bet she never counted on a certain 6' 3" ex-bodybuilder from Austria, the star of 'The Terminator' and 'The Expendables', to come to her rescue. That's right, Arnold Schwarzenegger has made a promise to Smith that he will do all that he can to help right her heart-breaking situation.

In a tweet, the actor said "Thelma has been a dear friend for a long time. Imagine doing this to a 102-year-old woman who gave back to the community her whole life. It is heartless. Thelma, I’ll be reaching out to help. Landlords, you’ll hear from me too."

Is Schwarzenegger available for hire, or can he come and sort out the current Irish housing crisis too? Either way, we truly hope the ex-Governor of California is able to help the poor elderly lady out of a terrible situation.

Schwarzenegger vowing to help has naturally generated some response online, so please now enjoy the best ones that we've seen so far. If we were a landlord in California, we would be sh*tting bricks right now.
