Ryan Reynolds is The King of Twitter but Dwayne Johnson also knows how to do social media right.
It’s the blockbuster king’s 46th birthday today and we decided to mark the occasion by looking back on some of the best messages, videos, pics and exchanges he has shared on Instagram and Twitter over the last couple of years.
With some being super sweet and others laugh-out-loud funny, they make it easy to see why the guy is the superstar that he is.
1. When he opened up about his battle with depression
The actor followed up an interview in which he revealed his decades-long struggle with depression, having witnessed his mother's failed suicide attempt as a teenager, with this message for fans.
Got tons of responses to this. Thank you. We all go thru the sludge/shit and depression never discriminates. Took me a long time to realize it but the key is to not be afraid to open up. Especially us dudes have a tendency to keep it in. You’re not alone

2. When him and Davina McCall exchanged some adorable tweets
It followed an interview in which Davina McCall quelled the rumours that she was sending "secret" messages to Dwayne Johnson.
Can’t quite believe this! Such a huge fan. Chester fell apart when he saw you mentioned him too! Thank you! Keep doing what you’re doing ! We r huge fans!ðŸ'ŠðŸÂ?»ðŸ'Â?ðŸÂ?»ps #dwayneforpresident 🇺🇸

3. When he slammed a Tweeter who criticised Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
And then said Tweeter showed his true love for The Rock.
Actually my friend, in the JUMANJI Lore Handbook, it clearly states in article 72 of section 7, that “any character who loses a life, shall return to their original state with any item they possessed at the time of their demise”. So kindly go f*ck yourself James.

I mean thankfully we always have the trusted Jumanji handbook for the rules lol

Dude. I haven’t loved you this much since WrestleMania 18

4. And when he slammed another criticising Tweeter
Again, what could have been an aggressive exchange turned to love and affection. How does he do it??
😂 ðŸ'Â?ðŸÂ?¾ I like the dry wit
Correct, I do in fact know wrestling isn’t real. Thats why I said “have fun”. I also know, you can go fuck yourself.— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) October 22, 2017
My worst nightmare has come true. The Rock thinks I wanted to insult him. I am scum. https://t.co/hlZ3oknRZm

Haha I just hit you back. Yes, I not only got the zany but appreciated it as well. 🙌ðŸÂ?¾

5. Whenever he shows love for his kids
We especially loved this vid from International Women’s Day of his daughter Jasmine.
6. And the gentler side of his persona
This pic of his newborn Tiana Gia broke our hearts.
7. How he always reaches out to thank fans
Dwayne always remembers the people who made him the star he is, and he is genuinely grateful.
8. When he does the extra little things for fans
Like this time when he stopped traffic just to meet a fan.
9. When he teased DC fans posing with Henry Cavill
Seriously, when is Black Adam hitting the big screen because we don’t know how much longer we can wait.
10. When he shared an Irish cartoonist’s doodle
That was a good day to be Irish.
