'The Red Sea Diving Resort' is based on the true story of a Mossad operation to evacuate Ethiopian Jews from the country's civil war.
Now that he's pretty much done with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's going to be interesting to see where Chris Evans' career goes to from here.
Although 'Knives Out' is technically his first role post-MCU, 'The Red Sea Diving Resort' is the first movie to be released as the movie was first announced two years ago and is only now seeing a release on Netflix. Evans leads a team of Mossad agents tasked with evacuating Ethiopian Jews from the country's bloody civil war in 1979, using a diving resort as a front to smuggle people out of the country.
Needless to say, it being a civil war and all, things don't go according to plan and things soon go from bad to worse. Written and directed by Gideon Raff, the creator of 'Homeland', there's a definite vibe that 'The Red Sea Diving Resort' is really going for that John Le Carré, '70s political / spy thriller vibe - what with all the wigs and beards everywhere and everyone smoking and drinking constantly.
'The Red Sea Diving Resort' hits Netflix on July 31st.
