That's a lot of fake blood. Like, a LOT.
After the first season ended with Jon Bernthal's titular character literally ramming a guy's face into a mirror and slicing parts of it off in the process, you've got to wonder how they're going to top it in the second season.
While this trailer doesn't give away a huge amount of plot points, it does look like they're amping up the action and violence - and it's going to get bloody. 'The Dark Knight Rises' alum Josh Stewart plays the lead villain, John Pilgrim, who's described as an alt-right "Christian fundamentalist" whilst Ben Barnes is set to return as Billy Russo, but his connection to John Pilgrim remains unanswered.
The other part of 'The Punisher' that remains unanswered is whether or not this is to be its final season. Given how 'Daredevil', 'Iron Fist' and 'Luke Cage' have all been shelved by Netflix, there's a strong likelihood that 'The Punisher' is headed in a similar direction.
The second season of 'The Punisher' hits Netflix on January 18th.
