A production status update and other details have been given for the 'Star Wars' series

An update has been given for 'The Mandalorian' season 3, 'The Book of Boba Fett', and 'Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi', thanks to Collider.

Fans waiting for new episodes of 'The Mandalorian', it has emerged, are going to have to wait a little longer than they'd hoped.

'The Book of Boba Fett', the show's much anticipated spin-off series, has officially wrapped filming in LA. The series was shot on the same stage as 'Mando's.

'The Book of Boba Fett' is thus right on time for its premiere this December on Disney+.

The spin-off will be closely linked to its predecessor as sources say that the series is a kind of 'The Mandalorian season 2.5'.

It is believed that other 'Mandalorian' characters will pop up in it.

Season 3 of 'The Mandalorian' has not begun production yet.

Filming on it won't begin until the end of this year or possibly early 2022.

This is because the 'Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi' series starring Ewan McGregor is using the LA stages now.

The show is set a decade after the events of 'Revenge of the Sith'.

Production is reportedly set to take place over a number of months.

Thus 'The Mandalorian' season 3 probably won't be premiering on Disney+ until late 2022.

The reason for the delay is also said to be because star Pedro Pascal also has to fit in shooting the TV adaptation of 'The Last of Us'. The show co-stars Bella Ramsey of 'Game of Thrones' fame.
