Director Mike Flanagan confirms the news

The follow-up to 'The Haunting of Hill House' will not be delayed.

Horror lovers, we have reason to celebrate this year as one of 2018's best TV series is still on track to be released on Netflix later this year. With many productions being pushed along the track a few months until 2021, it's comforting to see that 'The Haunting of Bly Manor' wrapped filming before it was too late.

Director and series creator Mike Flanagan confirmed the news on a recent episode of a movie podcast show. The director said: "I don't expect it to be delayed one bit. We didn't really miss a step, believe it or not. We had already wrapped before the whole COVID shutdown hit all the productions.

"I think Netflix, they haven't announced when it's coming out. They've got their own plan. But we've been jamming through post. It's been going great. It's definitely later this year. It's not going to get kicked off into 2021, or anything. Everything’s on schedule."

Back in April, Flanagan responded to a fan's tweet asking how the second series was shaping up.

We caught up with 'Hill House' star Oliver Jackson-Cohen earlier this year on what we can expect from season two of the horror anthology series. Jackson-Cohen said: "It's going to be great. Mike does this thing which is why I think he's such a genius when it comes to horror is that he's telling stories with heart and he makes you care about these characters.

"He's interested in the complexities of human dynamics and that's very much what 'Haunting of Bly Manor' is again. So I'm really, really excited for people to see it."

Expect an update from Netflix on when we'll be seeing 'The Haunting of Bly Manor' very soon. The series will be inspired by 'The Turn of the Screw' horror novella by author Henry James, and will see a fresh new family be haunted by the paranormal.
