More like "The Creepy Nurse"...
This Netflix thriller is based on real events, which makes it even more chilling.
'The Good Nurse' teams up Academy Award winners Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain for a Netflix film that'll have us on the edge of our seats.
Based on a true story written in the 2013 book of the same name by Charles Graeber, Chastain's character Amy is a "compassionate" nurse and a single mother whose work/life balance begins to get thrown into jeopardy. Enter... Charlie (Redmayne).
When this "thoughtful and empathetic" nurse starts on her unit, the two strike up a close relationship and life seems to be going a-okay. But when a number of mysterious patient deaths happen at the hospital, it sets off a police investigation with Charlie as the prime suspect. Is her new colleague the one to blame? Amy is forced to risk her life and the safety of her children to uncover the truth about a murderous person whom the media dubbed "The Angel of Death".
'The Good Nurse' is directed by Academy Award nominee Tobias Lindholm, who directed 'A War' and is also known for his work on the popular Danish thriller series 'Borgen'.
Here's the trailer.
Chastain won an Academy Award for her role as Tammy Faye Messner, a famous evangelist, singer, and television personality in she portrayed in 'The Eyes of Tammy Faye' earlier this year; Redmayne was nominated for an Oscar for 'The Danish Girl' but ended up winning the Best Actor gong the year before for 'The Theory of Everything'.
'The Good Nurse' hits Netflix on October 26.
