Superheroic superviolence is on its way back to Prime Video pretty soon.

'The Boys' may not be to everyone's taste, but it's certainly been a success for Amazon since it launched last year.

The series was renewed for a second season before the first season even landed on Prime Video, and became one of the most-watched original shows on the platform since then and now has a third season on the way. It was also critically lauded for its satirical bent on superheroes and celebrity culture, not to mention being just very funny as well.

Amazon has now confirmed that the second season of 'The Boys' will kick off with three episodes released on September 4th, with the remaining five episodes being released week to week after that. Not only that, but the first clip of the second season also landed online, introducing a new member of The Seven, Stormfront - a social-media-savvy superhero who's clearly got her own agenda.

In fact, Stormfront is basically continuously broadcasting on Instagram Live and is more or less a social media influencer of some kind, which is exactly what superheroes would be like if they existed in our world. On top of all this, a new "Supervillain" threat is pushing paranoia to its limit in the US, all of which seems to be playing into Homelander's hands, while the titular Boys are struggling to regroup after the events of last season.

Here's the clip. Language warning, obviously.
