He's nearly fifty years older, but just as scary

1974 was the year we first set eyes on that lovely leather face. Now he's back and leathery as ever in the trailer for Netflix's new horror movie, coming next month.

'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' stars 'Eighth Grade' breakout Elsie Fisher opposite Sarah Yarkin, Mark Burnham, Jacob Latimore, Irish actor Moe Dunford, Olwen Fouéré, Alice Krige, Jessica Allain and Nell Hudson.

Fouéré will take over as iconic final girl Sally Hardesty, who is out for revenge. She replaces Marilyn Burns, who portrayed the character in the original 1974 film and passed away in 2014.

The plot centres around Melody (Yarkin), her teenage sister Lila (Fisher), and their friends Dante (Latimore) and Ruth (Hudson). The group head to the remote town of Harlow, Texas to start an idealistic new business venture. But their dream soon turns into a waking nightmare when they accidentally disrupt the home of Leatherface, the deranged serial killer whose blood-soaked legacy continues to haunt the area’s residents.

John Larroquette returns to the franchise as the new film's narrator. Larroquette served this same role on the 1974 original and the 2003 remake. The new 'Texas Chainsaw' is a direct sequel to the 1974 original.

This means that the seven other films which have been made since the original release do not exist in the eyes of Netflix.

Producer Fede Álvarez said that the new film will keep the simplicity of the original plot.

"We wanted to come up with a very simple premise [with] a powerful domino effect. Everything is set up in the right place - all you have to do is push the first domino and everything will happen effortlessly."

'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' releases on Netflix on February 18. Watch the trailer below.
