Good news for fans of the Netflix series
'Sweet Tooth' has gotten the green light from Netflix for a second season. The series debuted on the streaming service in early June.
'Sweet Tooth' is based on the DC comic book series of the same name by Jeff Lemire.
Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey are among the show's executive producers.
Season 2 of the series will consist of eight one-hour long episodes.
The showrunner of 'Sweet Tooth', Jim Mickle said: "It’s been equally thrilling and heartwarming to experience how people around the world have been falling in love with our deer-boy.
"We couldn’t be more excited to continue our collaboration with Netflix and keep following Gus and his friends on their extraordinary journey."
'Sweet Tooth' takes place a decade after "The Great Crumble" wreaked havok on the world.
The event led to the mysterious emergence of hybrids, whereby babies were born part human, part animal.
The hybrids were hunted for fear that they were dangerous.
But a hybrid deer-boy named Gus (Christian Convery) survives and heads on a great adventure alongside a wandering loner named Jepperd (Nonso Anozie).
Other cast members of the series include Adeel Akhtar, Will Forte, Stefania LaVie Owe, Dania Ramirez, Aliza Vellani and Neil Sandilands.
Josh Brolin narrates the show.
